Vintage Summary
The 2023 vintage tested winemakers' skills and resilience with challenging seasonal conditions. Fluctuations in rainfall and a prolonged cool ripening period resulted in one of the latest harvests in living memory. Despite the difficulties, the vintage produced wines with exceptional varietal characters, pure aromatic qualities, well-structured tannins, and defined acidity. Winter rainfall provided a promising start for vine growth, but above-average rainfall later in 2022 caused concerns during berry set in some regions. The cool ripening months allowed for gradual flavor accumulation and preservation of natural acidity in white varieties.

Winemaking
Made from old vine, hand-picked Semillon from the Valley floor, these grapes were left on the vine well into the late harvest period, allowing them to naturally concentrate their sugars and flavours. A slow crushing process nurtured the fruit with upmost care and the wine has been meticulously fined to perfection. It will cellar well and become more complex over time, bottled in a half-size to maintain freshness and allow for aging.
Tasting Notes
Vibrant notes of honey and apricot. Well-balanced acidity helps to counteract the luscious sweetness and viscosity. Each sip reveals layers of rich flavour, and a touch of freshness makes for the perfect accompaniment to creamy desserts or flavour-bomb soft cheese.
